Getting a taste of craft beer made close to home

“Memory: An exhibition of portraiture evoking memory,” is the newest show in the Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College (PSC), 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

Artists Ellen Holtzblatt, Judith Roth, John P. Smolko, Joseph Taylor and Julian Williams will be welcomed at a 4:30 to 7 p.m. reception on Feb 11. The exhibit continues through March 9.

“The artists in ‘Memory’ have created portraits of various individuals in which the likeness of the sitter is less important than what the artist chooses to reflect about his or her sitter in terms of mood, personality and the psychology of the sitter,” said gallery Director Beth Shadur, curator of the exhibit.

“As viewers, we feel the intimacy of each moment portrayed, and feel privileged to be ‘allowed in’ to observe what may be a very private moment and the inner self of the sitter.”
