Joseph F. Casella, who served on the Homewood Village Board from June 2008 to April 2011, died Thursday, Feb. 4. He was 60.
A wake for Mr. Casella will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home and proceed to St. Joseph Church for a 10 a.m. mass of Christian burial.
Mr. Casella, a resident of Orland Park, retired from the Homewood Fire Department with the rank of lieutenant/paramedic. He had been serving as fire inspector for the communities of Minooka and Channahon. He was the owner of Casella Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia; children, Lindsey Parker Kraft and Christopher C.J. Parker; brothers John and Francis; and sisters Catherine Alsassa and Christine Shull.
