Flossmoor School District 161 will be filling two key administrative positions before the start of a new academic year next summer.
Superintendent Craig Doster said Monday that the district will soon post job notices for principal at Heather Hill School and for director of special education. He expects the job notices to be posted by the end of November or beginning of December. Doster made the announcement at Monday’s board of education meeting.
Patricia Fears is in her fifth year as Heather Hill principal. The school, one of five campuses in District 161, has 277 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Fears’ biography on the Heather Hill web page says she has been in education for 31 years, serving as both a teacher and administrator.
Nancy Wilson, the current director of special education, has worked in District 161 for more than 20 years. She is the head of the district’s Special Education Department, which coordinates a variety of services so District 161 students can reach their maximum potential and achieve success.
Doster said Tuesday that he is creating the posting and brochure for each position. The positions will be posted on the district web site; the vacancy notices will also be sent to other school districts and posted on the Illinois Association of School Administrators web site.
