Flossmoor firefighters responded to a house fire in the 2000 block of Hagen Lane in Flossmoor after receiving the call at 7:50 p.m. Saturday night.

Assistant Fire Chief Keith Damm said crews found heavy fire conditions on arrival at 7:53 p.m. During a search of the home one resident was found and was transported by ambulance for treatment. The victim’s condition was not available, he said. 

The fire was declared under control after a little more than an hour.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud boom sound that they assumed was the result of an explosion.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Damm said.

The Homewood, Hazel Crest, and Chicago Heights Fire Departments were also dispatched to the scene.
