As state withholds Motor Fuel Tax, village’s street repair fund could run dry

Douglas Chien, advocacy director of Friends of the Forest Preserves and co-steward of the Powderhorn Marsh and Prairie, will be the speakerat Homewood Science Pub at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27.

His talk is titled, “Ecological restoration is not rocket science — it’s harder.”

Chien has a undergraduate and master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As the Advocates’ Network Manager, his role is to support a community of forest preserve advocates. He’s also the co-steward of Powderhorn Prairie Nature Preserve on Chicago’s southeast side.

The presentation will be at Ravisloe Country Club, 18231 S. Park Ave. in  Homewood. The doors will open at 6 p.m. The Bunker Grill will be open for dinner.
