Homewood Fire Department
Open House.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fire department, 17950 Dixie Highway, and will allow the community to experience  the workings of the fire department, according to the village e-newswire.

Staff will give demonstrations and give visitors the opportunity to go through an obstacle course.  Refreshments will be served.

Fire Chief Bob Grabowski
explains how sprinkler
systems help keep fires
from spreading fast, giving
firefighters a better chance
of extinguishing a blaze
before significant damage
can occur.

An automobile extrication demonstration will take place at 12:15 p.m. and a live burn sprinkler demonstration will occur at 1:15 p.m.
