The Homewood-Flossmoor High School boys varsity golf team last week won the Southwest Suburban Conference title, defeating the Carl Sandburg team in a match at Coyote Run.
The team advanced to sectional play with a second place finish at the regional competition, which took place at Balmoral Golf Club. Scores for this week’s match were 75 for senior Jack Mulligan, 78 for senior Preston Genett, 78 for senior Jack Calderone and 81 for freshman Perry Hoag.
Sectionals will be held Monday, Oct 12, in Alton with the top three teams advancing to the state championship tournament.
