Area residents who love a challenge will get the chance to put their feet to the test from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, when an infestation of zombies is expected to plague Apollo and Butterfield parks in Homewood.

The third annual Zombie Fun Run will include obstacles, sound effects, and of course, Homewood-Flossmoor High School students who will temporarily become zombies for the event. They will have participants running for their lives over a 2.5K course, according to event organizers.

Register online at hfband.org.  Register by Oct. 6 to guarantee a T-shirt. The cost is $30 for adults, $20 for students with ID and $70 for families with 4 to 6 members. Proceeds support the H-F High School bands.
