Irons Oaks Foundation is presenting its first Green Parenting Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center, 2000 Western Ave., in Olympia Fields.
Whether you count yourself as a “green family” or you’re just interested in learning more about the possibilities, this Green Parenting Fair will have something for you, organizers said.
The focus will be on natural, environmentally friendly options for parents and their children.
There will be vendors, live music and Homewood’s science guy, Barry Latham, with his telescope on hand as a guide to the cosmos, and families also have a chance to explore Irons Oaks and use some of the outdoor play equipment.
The focus is on green parenting, but the event is also about environmentally sound living and will have something to offer for anyone who is generally interested in living green, according to Kate Duff, one of the organizers.
