Get ready for a fun time Saturday at the Infant Jesus of Prague Block Party!
For more than a decade members of Infant Jesus of Prague Parish, Flossmoor Road and Douglas Avenue in Flossmoor, have been coming together for a summer evening of neighborhood enjoyment. This year’s event opens with an outdoor mass on the parish grounds at 4 p.m. followed by fun and fellowship beginning at 5 p.m.
Parishioners, friends and community members will enjoy burgers, brats, Italian sausage sandwiches, corn on the cob and Aurelio’s pizza. Volunteers at the beer tent will serve specialty beverages from Flossmoor Station and margaritas made on the spot. Or, choose to enjoy iced coffee or tea, Zarlengo’s Italian Ice, gelato and Zar Bars.
Calling all Blackhawks fans: Chicago Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk will be at the Block Party between 5:30 and 6:15 p.m. signing autographs and taking photos with Hawks fans.
Kids will enjoy the face painting and inflatables, a rock wall and games, and families get to have their photo taken at the photo booth and try to win delicious treats at the cake walk.
Music for the evening will be by “Not My Dad and Two Chicks.”
The parish raffle has a grand prize of $7,500. Tickets will be sold up until the winner is called at 9:30 p.m.
