Which of the 17 GOP presidential candidates will you vote for?  Or, are you set to cast a Democratic ballot?

You can only help make the decision of who is elected if you’re registered to vote.

You have an opportunity to update your registration, or register for the first time, with assistance from the Homewood-Flossmoor Area League of Women Voters.

Members of the league will man a booth from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Homewood Farmers Market on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Anyone over the age of 18, or anyone 17 years old who will be 18 by November 2016, is eligible to vote. Registrants must present two pieces of identification, such as a driver’s license or state ID card, a university ID card, a utility bill with current address, a paycheck with your address or bank statement.

If you’ve moved since you last voted, changed your name or made any other changes, volunteers will help you update your voter registration.

It’s also time for Round 2 of the short civics quiz on U.S. history and government.

Erin Roeper, co-president of the group, said two test-takers of Round 1 offered on July 25 got perfect scores!

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. For information on how you can join the LWV-HF see Roeper or other members at the booth on Saturday.
