A Flossmoor woman is seeking community support after the sudden death of her daughter early Monday, July 20.Elizabeth Gerald is hoping to raise money for funeral and burial expenses. A Gofundme.com page has been set up to accept donations. Her daughter, Marcelle J. "Marcie" Gerald, was unresponsive early that morning and was taken to South Suburban Hospital, where she was declared dead at 6:31 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.   • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
