The driver of a vehicle that struck a tree in the 1100 block of 187th Street on June 25 was injured and was transported from the scene by ambulance, according to neighbors.
Homewood police said the driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The accident was reported about 3:15 p.m.
Police declined to release additional information, citing Illinois statute 625 5/11-412.
