A two-vehicle traffic accident June 21 in the 17400 block of Halsted Street injured five people, according to Homewood police.

The crash was reported shortly after 3:30 p.m.

All five occupants of a Chevy Tahoe involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals, police said. 

The driver of a second vehicle, a 1999 Saturn, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Police declined to release additional information, citing Illinois statute 625 5/11-412.
