Saturday marks Flossmoor Brewfest’s return to downtown area

Kamleiter selected for Flossmoor police chief appointment
Acting Flossmoor Police Chief Tod Kamleiter has been selected to move up the ranks to serve as the village’s next permanent police chief. Kamleiter was Flossmoor’s deputy police chief for six years until May, when he was appointed acting police chief following former chief Mike Pulec’s retirement.
Flossmoor names new coordinator for village events
Nicole Brookens has been named program and events coordinator for the village of Flossmoor. Brookens, a longtime Homewood resident, succeeds Laura Brennan Levy, who stepped down from the post last month. Brennan Levy was the first person to hold the position.
Flossmoor hires company to track vacancies, foreclosures
Flossmoor currently has 176 vacant, foreclosed and pre-foreclosed properties out of about 4,000 houses in the community. Flossmoor fire department gets federal grant for emergency equipment
The Flossmoor Fire Department was awarded a $222,345 federal grant to purchase updated emergency breathing equipment that will make firefighters safer when entering burning buildings. Flossmoor seeking proposals for commercial development
Flossmoor officials have extended the deadline to submit commercial development proposals for vacant property in the village’s southwest corner. The village is looking to develop just under 29 acres (17 parcels) of the 36 acres it owns in the former tax increment financing district (TIF) near Meijer.
Flossmoor receives financial reporting award for 41 straight years
The Village of Flossmoor has received an award for excellence in financial reporting for the 41st year in a row. Flossmoor Finance Director Scott Bordui presented a plaque to the mayor and village board on behalf of the Government Finance Officers Association during an Aug. 5 meeting.
