Ready for the Gem

Cyclists who made the journey July 13 along the Hidden Gem Half Marathon route noted some streets were crumbly. 

Flossmoor Public Works tackled the problem, and by Friday, Aug. 16, finished patching work on the race route in preparation for the Sept. 7 event. 

Public Works Director John Brunke said the patching work would continue on other streets, but the race route had gotten priority.
