Police look for three suspects after attempted carjacking
A Flossmoor resident was assaulted and robbed during an attempted carjacking at his home on Thursday, police said. The incident was reported at about 5:30 p.m. on May 30 in the 1400 block of Kinross Street, Flossmoor police said in an email alert to the community.

Homewood explores TIF incentive for Bogart’s site redevelopment
Officials hope a new TIF district will incentivize redevelopment of the former Bogart’s restaurant at 18225 Dixie Highway in Homewood. Kane, McKenna and Associates, a financial services firm, began helping the village work toward establishing a new TIF district along Dixie Highway and Miller Court in August of 2018.

Viking Choir sings commissioned piece to departing director
The Viking Choir at Homewood-Flossmoor High School gave their beloved choir director Mike Rugen a final send-off on May 23, performing a piece specially written for him. At the end of the program, the students surprised him with “You Will Never Know,” written for his retirement.

Sun shines on Homewood Memorial Day ceremonies
