Western Avenue Principal Prosen headed for Oak Brook school
Western Avenue School Principal Chad Prosen resigned this week. He will become the new principal at Brook Forest School in Butler District 53 in Oak Brook beginning with the 2017-18 school year. The District 53 school board approved Prosen’s hiring on May 8.

H-F dramatic interpretation takes honors at state competition
The Homewood-Flossmoor High School dramatic group interpretation team took third place honors for their 30-minute performance of “Jekyll and Hyde” at the Illinois High School Association’s Drama and Group Interpretation State Finals at the University of Illinois-Springfield in March.

Big machines will rule in Homewood on May 20-21
Big machines will be on display and in action May 20-21 at the annual Homewood Rail Fest, the Homewood Public Works Open House and the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District’s Touch a Truck event. The Homewood Science Center will host a PopUp Science event with activities that explore the physics of railroads and rollercoasters.
