Park district hopes for $2.5 million grant for ice arena improvements
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has submitted an application for a $2.5 million grant to underwrite major improvements to the H-F Ice Arena, 777 Kedzie Ave., in hopes it can also improve the lighting, update the HVAC system and make other changes. The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District board approved contracts for repairs to the bandshell roof at the Marie Irwin Center, and a new parking lot at Irons Oaks Center.
Park district gets funding for Homewood Estates Park
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has been awarded a $292,700 grant for work at Homewood Estates Park. Principal at Churchill School resigns her position
Nikki Kerr, principal at Homewood’s Churchill School, will be leaving her position July 1. With twin 6-year-olds, Kerr said she couldn’t be a mom and a principal and work well at both positions.
