Air Quality Alert. The Illinois EPA has issued an air quality alert until midnight because of elevated particle pollution caused by wildfire smoke in the region. Air quality is expected to reach the orange level or “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.”

Afternoon Book Discussion: Stay Hidden. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host a discussion of “Stay Hidden” by Paul Doiron from 2 to 3 p.m.  

Movie Night. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host a movie from 6 to 8 p.m. Cozy attire and blankets are encouraged, according to library staff. Popcorn and drinks will be available but you can bring your own favorite movie snack, too.

Teen Movie Club. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a “Top Gun” double feature for teens grades 7 to 12. At 4 p.m. the original “Top Gun” will be shown. At 6:30 p.m. “Top Gun: Maverick” will be shown. There will be snacks. Registration is required.
