Highlights:
- Consider approving the purchase of new body-worn and in-car cameras for the police department to replace existing equipment.
- Discuss two requests from Chris and Jennifer Zarozny regarding their plans to open Beyond Borders Cafe at 1036 Sterling Ave. (formerly Tovar Shoe Repair), an artisan coffee shop with a light food menu. They are asking for a liquor license to serve beer and wine. They also are requesting $17,400 in TIF-eligible expenses.
- Discuss the possibility of revising village code regarding the operation of food trucks in the village.
Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Board of Commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, in the Goldberg Administration Center, 3301 Flossmoor Road. The agenda is available here.
Cookies & Comics. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, hosts the monthly meeting from 6 to 6:45 p.m. to read comics and eat cookies. This month, the featured comics is “Halfway to Somewhere” by Jose Pimienta.
Choo-Choo Ride. Meet at GoodSpeed Cycles, 2125 183rd St., at 6:30 p.m. for four-mile bike ride at a party pace (6 to 8 mph). The ride takes in the beautiful neighborhoods of Homewood and Flossmoor at a very good speed: faster than walking, but slow enough to savor our community and each other. Return to the shop around 7:30 p.m. to eat Dilly Bars and drink beers. Helmets mandatory.
