Keep Pets on Leash. Homewood reminds residents about the importance of keeping pets leashed when they are outside. The village is strengthening enforcement of the “Loose Dogs and Cats” ordinance in response to an increase in loose animal incidents, which can pose public safety risks to both people and pets. The village recently increased the fine for loose pet violations from $25 to $150. The existing maximum fine remains at $750.
