The driver of a red Ford Ranger was seriously injured Saturday morning, March 28, in a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of 183rd Street and Governors Highway, according to Homewood police.
The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. as the driver was traveling southbound on Governors Highway. As he approached 183rd Street, the driver drove into the northbound lanes and struck a traffic light pole at the northeast corner of the intersection, police said.
The driver, 25, was treated by Homewood Fire Department paramedics and was transported to a local hospital, where he remained as of Wednesday, April 1.
The circumstances of the crash are under investigation by the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit with assistance from the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SMART).
