The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for southern Cook County including Homewood and Flossmoor starting at 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, and continuing to Monday evening.
Forecasters expect the area could get 6 to 10 inches of snow Sunday night and another 1 to 2 inches Monday. Depending on the location of snow bands, some areas could see a foot of snow.
The lake effect snow event could produce snowfall rates of up to 3 inches per hour with wind gusts up to 30 mph.
