Employment Fair at PSC on Tuesday, Aug. 19

The Workforce Empowerment Initiative (WEI) Grant and the National Able Network are co-hosting Ready, Set, Work, an employment fair to help job seekers connect with top employers across a range of industries. The free event will be held in the Prairie State College (PSC) Conference Center from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Aug. 19. It is open to students, college graduates and members of the community.

Attendees seeking full-time, part-time or internship opportunities will be provided a chance to explore openings, network with hiring professionals, and receive career-building support. This is a chance for resume review, networking with employers and learning about career resources.

“Ready, Set, Work is more than a job fair, it is a bridge to career opportunities. We are excited to connect our community with pathways to employment, training and growth,” said Brian Stanley, director of the Workforce Empowerment Initiative at PSC.

Employers will represent business services, construction jobs, finance and insurance, first responders, healthcare, hospitality/tourism, information technology, manufacturing, public safety, retail, transportation, distribution and logistics.

Attendees are reminded to dress professionally and bring their resume and are encouraged to register in advance.
