Highlights:
- Burns and McDonnell will present design options for the Water Rate Study that was authorized late last year. A previous update on the project was presented in April.
- A redevelopment and purchase agreement with PWP Homewood LLC (Caton Commercial Real Estate Group) for the village-owned property located known as Park West Plaza, 3003-3025 183rd St.
- A contract for engineering to design a number of crosswalk improvements in the downtown area to prepare for expected growth in pedestrian traffic.
- Collective bargaining agreements with two chapters of the Metropolitan Alliance of Police representing patrol officers and sergeants.
- A budget amendment to pay the sales tax sharing incentive to Ford of Homewood.
- Move to a month-to-month lease agreement with Homewood Arts Council for the Homewood Auditorium in preparation for impending renovation work on the facility.
Flossmoor Public Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. in the library, 1000 Sterling Ave. The agenda will be available here.
Bagels & Bingo. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host bingo games from 10 to 11:30 a.m. There will be small prizes for each game winner and bagels for all until supplies run out. Participation is limited to seniors.
Storytime in the Park. Flossmoor Public Library will host storytime from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in Leavitt Park, 1010 Leavitt Ave.
Park Storytime. Homewood Public Library will host storytime from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in Orchard Park, 1655 Olive Road.
Choo-Choo Ride. GoodSpeed Cycle’s slow roll just riding around bike ride for all ages. Meet at the shop, 2125 W. 183rd St., at 6:30 p.m. The ride is about four miles at a leisurely pace. The ride ends at the shop around 7:30 p.m. with Dilly Bars and beers for riders. Helmets required.
Manga Club. The club will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. in the FORT, second floor of Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway.
Kids Art Camp – Animal Week. Bottle & Bottega, 2009 Ridge Road, will host a fun, hands-on break from screens with a week-long art camp designed for young artists ages 7 to 14. Each day, campers will complete a 16- by 20-inch painting while learning new techniques to build their skills and creativity. At the end of the week, there will be a special art show to display campers’ work. Tickets are $40.
Homewood Stories. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at FCC Community House, 847 Hutchison Road in Flossmoor. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Storytellers include Vijay Bhargava, Joy Wright, Karen Torme Olson, Errol McClendon and host Suzy Dritz. Admission is $15 cash at the door. No credit cards.
