Flossmoor seeks village clerk applicants after LoGalbo resigns

Flossmoor is accepting applications from residents who would like to be considered for the position of village clerk following the June 16 resignation of Gina LoGalbo from the position.

LoGalbo is an attorney and Marine veteran. She was appointed village clerk in May 2021 by Mayor Michelle Nelson following the resignation of former clerk Ananda Billings. She was elected to the position in 2023 and was reelected on April 1 this year.

In her resignation letter, LoGalbo said her responsibilities at her full-time job were increasing and were conflicting with her ability to attend Flossmoor village board meetings.

“Coupled with my familial obligations, my ability to continue serving as village clerk has become increasingly limited,” she said. “This decision was not made lightly, as serving as village clerk has been both a privilege and a significant professional experience. I am deeply thankful for the opportunities I have had serving the residents of our village.”

The village announced that any Flossmoor residents interested in serving the rest of LoGalbo’s term, which lasts until May 2027, should submit a resume and letter of interest to [email protected] with “Village Clerk Application” in the subject line. The deadline to apply is midnight on Monday, July 7.

The village clerk is a non-voting member of the village board who is responsible for recording votes, taking board meeting minutes and attesting signatures on various village documents.
