District 153 presents honors to students at graduation

During the graduation ceremony for the 210 James Hart School students May 28, special awards were announced.

Mateo Garcia and Jordi Pesce received the Betty Dillon Academic Achievement Award for earning all As while taking the most rigorous courses.

Antonio Britton and Chloe Schneider received the Wally Burns VFW Post 8077 Award for displaying honor, courage, leadership and service.

Chloie Camp and Matthew Holley received the Homewood Rotary Art Welsh 4-Way Test Award for displaying the characteristics of truth, fairness, goodwill and friendship.

Joash Ebeywa and Kaylah Hamlin received the PTA Service Award for contributions of time and talents to make James Hart School a better place.

Jennah Cannon received the Shelly Marks Citizenship Award for displaying the leadership and public service attributes of former school board president Shelly Marks.
