Homewood Outdoor Farmers Market Opening Day. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Martin Square on Martin Avenue between Chestnut and Ridge roads in downtown Homewood. Vendors will offer fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted jewelry, skincare and more. Food trucks will be on hand and ready-to-eat meals will be available. Entertainment will include live music and activities for kids. This week activities will include free face-painting for children from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Serendipity Yoga will hold a session for kids from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Parking is available in the village hall parking lot, the commuter parking lot on Harwood Avenue or on nearby streets. Chestnut Road will be closed from the main entrance of village hall to Dixie Highway from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be no parking access at the Homewood Science Center during market hours.
Lemonade on the Lawn. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will offer lemonade from noon to 2 p.m. as part of the Summer Reading Program.
Lions Club Pool Opens June 1. The pool at 1041 Ridge Road in Homewood will open tomorrow because of expected cool temperatures today. Buy a pool pass here. Hours will be Monday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lap swim will be Monday through Thursday 9 to 11 a.m. and 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. and Friday through Sunday, 9 to 10:45 a.m.
