Blood Drive. Prairie State College will host a Versiti blood drive from 1:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. on campus at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. Donors will receive a $10 e-gift card. Click here to make an appointment.
LEGOs @ the Library. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will provide the bricks, kids in grades kindergarten through sixth will provide the creativity from 4 to 5 p.m.
Paper Flowers with Cricut. Welcome spring by making a handcrafted basket of paper flowers in the Homewood Public Library Makery, 17917 Dixie Highway, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Learn the basics of the Cricut Smart Cutting machine to make a gift or centerpiece. Registration required. Event intended for those 18 years and older. Fee is $5. Non-residents must purchase a punch-card to attend event in addition to class fee.
Tuesday, March 25
Senior Medicare Patrol. Marina Silva of Age Options’ Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol will be at the Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., from 1 to 2 p.m. to help seniors learn more about the Senior Medicare Patrol Program and how they can protect, detect and report Medicare fraud. Handouts and take-away information will be available to all participants. Registration is not required.
Wednesday, March 26
Wacky Snack Attack. Learn what teens from other countries snack on after school at the Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. For grades 7 thru 12. Registration is preferred but not required. Please list any food allergies when registering.

Gardening Club. The club meets at 7 p.m. every fourth Thursday at Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway.
PMA 70th anniversary. The Homewood Parent Music Association will host an anniversary celebration and concert at 7 p.m. at James Hart School, 18220 Morgan St. in Homewood. There will be performances from current District 153 musicians, testimonials from Homewood parents and music program alumni, a celebration of 2025 PMA summer scholarship recipients, raffles and chocolate for sale.
Friday, March 28
Spring Break Boredom Bags. Anyone with nothing to do during this break from school can pick up a Spring Break Boredom Bag from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave. Each bag includes fun, creative activities.
Flossmoor Library Friends Monthly Special Interest Sale. The monthly sale will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the library, 1000 Sterling Ave. March’s special Interest topic is gardening.
Gaming Night: Zombie Apocalypse. Try to get through a series of tests and escape the zombies from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway. Pizza will be served. Registration is preferred. For anyone in grades 7 through 12.
Saturday, April 29
Homewood Indoor Farmers Market. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon in the Homewood Auditorium at 2010 Chestnut Road.
Barb & Dan’s Road Ride. Riders of all experience levels can join the group, which leaves at 8 a.m. from GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 183rd St. in Homewood. There is a no-drop group that rides about 20 miles and stronger riders sometimes go further. Helmets required, daytime lights strongly recommended.
Off-leash Ride. A leisurely just-riding-around nine-mile ride every Saturday. Route includes Butterfield Creek bike path, Rovers Run, and Izaak Walton Preserve. Starts at GoodSpeed Cycles, 2125 183rd St. at 8:30am sharp, ends back at the shop 9:45ish for donuts.
Clean Comedy Show. An evening of laughter and entertainment with comedian Stephon starting at 5 p.m., hosted by Living to Live Again Family Worship Center, 2750 175th St. in Hazel Crest.

Saturday, April 5
Southland Spring Cleanup. Flossmoor will gather volunteers at the Meijer parking lot, 3800 Vollmer Road, from 9 a.m. to noon to clean up land near the store. Sign up here.
Saturday, April 12
Lucky Egg Hunt. Youngsters will have a chance to gather eggs, including a few special eggs with extra prizes, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Apollo Park, near Morgan Street and Bowling Green Road. For kids age 10 and younger. H-F Park District residents only. Free.
Lucky Dog Egg Hunt. Dogs and their people can hunt for treat-filled eggs at Apollo Park, near Morgan Street and Bowling Green Road from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Families and friendly, on-leash dogs welcome.
Saturday, April 19
Homewood Cleanup Day. In honor of Earth Day, Homewood is hosting a community clean-up from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The village will provide garbage bags, gloves, trash pickers and safety vests. Volunteers should meet at Homewood Public Works, 17755 Ashland Ave. Sign up to volunteer here.
