Glenwood police reported Friday, Feb. 28, that no charges would be filed in the shooting death Sunday, Feb. 23, at Chug-A-Lug Pub & Grill at 18409 S. Halsted St.
After an investigation was completed by Glenwood police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office concluded the shooting was done in self defense, police said.
James Honey of the 6800 block of Hickory St. in Tinley Park killed in the shooting incident.
According to the report, the incident was “a chance encounter over a parking dispute. None of the people involved knew each other and there was no contact or conflict between any of the parties involved before the incident.”
The person who fired the fatal shot was a concealed carry license holder. A firearm possessed by Honey was found at the scene, police said.
