Fort Fun. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host a fun time of reading and activities in a fort starting at 6 p.m. “Crawling clothes or pajamas are a must.” Also, participants can bring a favorite picture book, and if there’s time, there might be a chance to read it to the group. Cookbook Club for Teens. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a meet-up starting at 7 p.m. with teens who love to cook, bake and talk about recipes. “Participants will choose a cookbook and pick a recipe from that book. They will perfect it at home and return the next month with a sample of their recipe or just tell us the pros and cons of the recipe.” For anyone in grades seven through 12. Registration is required.

Search-O-Rama: A Dav Pilkey Scavenger Hunt. Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will host a scavenger hunt based on the books of Dav Pilkey from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Register here.
Stitches and Shenanigans. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a monthly meeting of stitchers from 6 to 8 p.m. “Come bring your fiber arts projects and hang out with us on the second Tuesday each month.” More info here.
Trivia on Tap. Lassens Tap, 2131 183rd St., will host a general trivia competition with prizes for winning teams starting at 8 p.m.
Homewood Stories 11th Anniversary Show. Homewood Stories will celebrate 11 years of storytelling with a show at 7:30 p.m. at the FCC Community House, 847 Hutchison Road in Flossmoor. Tellers will be Eunice Jarrett, Matt Jones, Paul Teodo, Megan Wells and Suzy Dritz. Cost is $15 at the door. Bring your own food and drink if you wish.

Yoga Storytime. Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway, will host a story time plus yoga starting at 11:30 a.m. “We will learn about monthly themes through movement, stories, and songs. No need to bring a mat for kids, but registration is required as space is limited.” More info here.
Sunday, Jan. 19
Classical Music Concert. Talented pre-conservatory student-musicians will give a free concert at 4 p.m. in Flossmoor Community Church, 2218 Hutchison Road, as part of Flossmoor’s MLK Day of Service project. Students will perform works by Bach, Kreisler, Paganini and Tchaikovsky at this fifth annual Classical Music Concert in Flossmoor. While the concert is free, all free-will offerings will help the Center for Food Equity in Medicine continue its work providing nutritious meals for families of people battling life-changing health conditions.
