Homewood police report finding several spent shell casings after receiving a report of shots fired in the 17600 block of Hillside Avenue.
The report was made shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. Persons responsible for the shots apparently had fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
A vehicle near where the incident occurred crashed into a tree while attempting to leave the area. No injuries were reported.
Homewood Police detectives are investigating the incident. Police urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit at 708-206-3420.
