Highlights:
- A redevelopment agreement and property sale with Joaquin Anguiano, who proposes to build a Mexican restaurant on village-owned property at 18134-18138 Dixie Highway, the site of the former Savoia T’Go restaurant. The board also will consider endorsing a county Class 8 property tax incentive as part of the project.
- A resolution that makes available for public inspection the redevelopment plan and the qualification report for the proposed Harwood TOD TIF district.
- A measure terminating the Southgate TIF District, which was established in 2000 and expired Dec. 31, 2023.
- An ordinance convening a joint review board and calling a public hearing for the proposed North Halsted TIF District.
- Three ordinances pertaining to the setting of the 2024 property tax levy.
- A motion to approve the transfer of one month of operating expenses, $2.3 million, from the general fund unassigned fund balance to the capital projects fund.
- Two presentations, one an update on the water rate study being conducted by engineering firm Burns & McDonnell and one an update on the village’s five-year capital improvement plan.
Flossmoor Community Relations Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, in village hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road. The agenda is available here. The commission will continue refining its revised purpose and intent document, an update from the 2020 version.

Ho Ho Ho-Flo Holiday Lights Ride. GoodSpeed Cycle, 2125 183rd St. in Homewood will hold its annual holiday bike ride to view holiday decorations in Homewood and Flossmoor. Cyclists will meet at the shop at 6:30 p.m. Hot chocolate will be served before the ride starts. Bikes should have front and rear lights, and cyclists should wear helmets. The cost is a $5 minimum donation for Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse. Bring cash or donate ahead of time.
Santa’s Driveway Visits. From 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 10, 11 and 19 Santa will visit families in H-F. Sign up for Santa to visit your driveway and tell him what you want for Christmas or take a personal photo with him by registering at bit.ly/SantaDriveway2024. The fee is $20 per visit.
