Fragments of Flossmoor Discussion x 2. Author and Flossmoor Veterans’ Memorial Secretary-Treasurer Kris Condon will be available to discuss her book, “Fragments of Flossmoor: A Series of Essays on the Interesting, Curious and Unique in Our Village,” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, with 100% of sales benefiting the Flossmoor Veterans Memorial Wall of Honor project. Registration is not required.

Special Tribute Homewood Stories. Homewood Stories will host a special tribute event at FCC Community House, 847 Hutchinson Road in Flossmoor, to the honor the series founder, the late Karen O’Donnell. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., event starts at 7:30 p.m. Free. No RSVP necessary.

Thornton Township Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. in township hall,
333 E. 162nd St., South Holland. The agenda is available here. The board will consider approving the 2024-25 budgets for the general fund and general assistance fund, a tax refund for property owners in the township, bonuses for township employees and an appointment to fill the trustee position vacated when Jerry Jones resigned. 

Homewood School District 153 Board of Education Finance and Property Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the district office conference room, 18205 Aberdeen St. The agenda is available here.

Homewood-Flossmoor District 233 Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. in The Viking Room, South Building, 999 Kedzie Ave. The agenda is available here. Student recognitions will include the state champion unified soccer team and National Merit Commended Students and a semi-finalist. The board will consider a resolution establishing the estimated tax levy, authorizing the administration to apply for a property tax relief grant and six measures related to insurance renewals.

Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Board of Commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. in the Goldberg Administration Center, 3301 Flossmoor Road. The agenda is available here. The board will consider setting winter recreation and Coyote Run Golf Course fees.

Flossmoor Green Commission will meet at 7 p.m. in village hall, 2800 Flossmoor Road. The agenda is available here.
