The American pine marten, a small weasel-like mammal that once thrived in Wisconsin’s wooded areas, will be the topic for the next meeting of Green Drinks on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Soundgrowler, 8201 W. 183rd St. in Tinley Park.
David Zaber, an environmental scientist, will lead the discussion. Zaber served as the National Wildlife Federation’s wildlife toxicologist for the Great Lakes and as director of science at Defenders of Wildlife. He will share the current status of the marten, evaluate missed opportunities for the animal’s recovery and consider what the future may bring for the animal.
Participants are asked to register for this free program through Eventbrite.com.
