District 153 urges parents to set Timely and Meaningful Consultations meetings

Homewood District 153 school district is urging families with home-schooled students or students that attend private school within the district’s boundaries to schedule an appointment for their Timely and Meaningful Consultations (TMC).

Staff will be available to discuss services with parents in District 153 with a home-schooled student who has been, or may be, identified with a disability. TMC sessions are held in fall and spring. The fall 2022 sessions will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Dale Mitchell Administrative Office, 18205 Aberdeen St. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling Melanie Mandisodza, director of Student Support Services, at 708-798-3766.

The spring sessions will be Wednesday and Thursday, May 17 and 18.

During the consultation, a district staff member will discuss plans for providing special education services for the 2022-2023 school year to students with disabilities who attend private schools and/or home schools.
