All Kids Bike takes off at Willow School

Do you remember learning to ride a bike? You probably wobbled as you tried to pedal while finding your center of gravity, an adult diligently holding on to the bike’s seat to keep you upright.

Homewood District 153 and GoodSpeed Cycles of Homewood have come up with a different way to learn to ride a bike – start small and don’t include the pedals.

Winter events

THURSDAY, DEC. 1

  • Flossmoor Business Association open house, 5 to 7 p.m., downtown Flossmoor.

FRIDAY, DEC. 2

  • Holiday Lights in Homewood, 5 to 9 p.m., Ridge Road and Martin Avenue downtown. Shopping, carousel, mulled wine, cookies, ice sculpture, music, antique car parade.
  • Tree-lighting ceremony with Santa Claus, 7 p.m., Irwin Park.

SATURDAY, DEC. 3

  • Janet Gustafson’s gingerbread village tours, 3 to 6 p.m. Register at flossmoor.org.
