H-F park board extends lease for Conroy Orthopaedics

The Homewood address for Conroy Orthopaedic & Sports Therapy Ltd. remains the same, but its location within the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club will change.

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District agreed March 29 to extend Conroy’s lease through March 2027 and work with the business to move its offices to the front of the building at 2920 W. 183rd St. Conroy has been a tenant in the building for many years.

The shift will make an additional 2,000 square fee available for park district use. That helps advance the park district board’s intention to add programming to the fitness center, converting the space to a community-based facility. Currently the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club operates on a membership basis.

Club Manager Eileen Rohrer said the switch will give the park district additional space for programming, “and allow for complete control of who is in the facility. When Conroy is closed, the entrance doors to that (south) side of the building will be locked. When Conroy is open, their patients will enter directly into their reception area. For the first time, the club and Conroy will be able to operate fully independently.”

The one-year lease between the park district and Conroy sets rent at $30,000 from April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023, with additional costs for utilities and laundry services. The rental costs will go up incrementally through March 2027.
