Flossmoor police reported responding to a vehicle crash near Parker Junior High School around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, but upon arriving at the scene they discovered a juvenile gunshot victim.
The individual, and two other juveniles, were taken to area hospitals. Police said the gunshot victim was in stable condition as of the early hours on Sunday, Feb. 27.
According to the police department’s statement: “We believe that there is no continued threat to the community.” Officers are calling this a targeted, isolated incident.
Flossmoor police were assisted at the scene by the Flossmoor Fire Department and crime scene investigators from the Illinois State Police. Flossmoor detectives are investigating the incident. They encourage area neighbors to review Ring doorbell surveillance.
