Cancer Support Center’s Texas Hold’em tournament is Saturday

The Community Board of the Cancer Support Center is hosting its 18th annual Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 12, at Balagio’s Ristorante, 17501 Dixie Highway in Homewood.

This fun evening is open to men and women with a chance for the final eight players to share more than $5,000 in cash and prizes. Added this year is a “last woman standing” prize for the final female. For women not familiar with the game of Texas Hold’em, Flossmoor resident A.J. Rudolph from Power Poker will host a Poker 101 table for women to learn the game, starting at 4:30 p.m. when the doors open. Texas Hold’em play begins at 5:30 p.m.

Advance registration is $175, or $200 at the door. The fee covers tournament entry, food and open bar. Spectators can register for $50. Participants can register online by clicking here or by calling the CSC at 708-798-9171.

“If you haven’t played in this tournament before, it’s an entertaining evening with good friends, good fun, and all for a great cause – 100% of the evening’s proceeds will help support the Cancer Support Center and the amazing programming they provide,” said organizer Brent Bachus.

Since the inception of the CSC Community Board, the organization has raised more than $700,000 through its annual Texas Hold’em tournament and other events, he said. For additional information, contact Bachus at 708-267-4660 or [email protected].
