Homewood police respond to robbery report on Halsted St.

BMO Harris Bank in Homewood called police Monday morning to report the bank was being robbed, according to a press release from Homewood Police Department.

Police officers responded to the call and arrived at the bank, 17600 Halsted St., at about 10:45 a.m. Jan. 3.

Witnesses told police that a man demanded money from a bank teller. He then fled the bank and left the area in a purple vehicle, police said.

The suspect is described as being an African-American man who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, black baseball hat and light blue or gray facemask.

The Homewood Police Detective Division is assisting the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the investigation.
