Homewood village hall to reopen April 5

Homewood village hall will reopen to the public on Monday, April 5, after being closed since November because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Business hours Monday through Friday will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Village hall will remain closed on Saturdays until further notice. Mayor Richard Hofeld has said he expects to resume his Saturday morning open office hours sometime in May.

Village officials are encouraging residents to continue using online methods of interacting with village government when possible to increase safety, including for purchasing vehicle stickers and paying water bills

The village also has implemented several protocols to ensure the safety of both the public and employees when it’s necessary to interact in person.

  • Face coverings over nose and mouth must be worn at all times within village hall.
  • Enter only through the west doors and exit through the main lobby doors.
  • Hand sanitizer stations are placed throughout the building.
  • A Plexiglas hygiene barrier is in place at both the downstairs and upstairs customer service windows.
  • Social distancing reminders and signage are placed throughout the building to help residents get where they need to go safely and with ease.
