A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ridge Road and Dixie Highway in downtown Homewood on Saturday caused damage to the TravelBrokers/TB Eggert Insurance building.

Two ambulances were on scene shortly after the crash, which occurred about noon. There were reports of injuries to people involved in the crash, but Homewood police have not yet provided details.

After the collision, one of the vehicles struck the front window and door of the travel agency at 1956 Ridge Road, shattering glass and leaving debris from the vehicle scattered across the sidewalk.

One employee of the agency was working at the time of the crash, but she indicated she was unharmed.

“I’m fine. I’m just a little rattled,” K.C. Bloechl said.

She did not see the crash occur, she said, but heard a squealing sound and then the impact with the building.
