Repair work has begun on the Secretary of State’s facility at 507 W. 209th St. in Chicago Heights.
The staff at the facility provides driver’s tests, driver’s licenses, Real ID cards, license plate sales and other services. The office shut down in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was ready to reopen June 1 but on May 31 vandals set fire to the building, causing heavy damage.
