Homewood approved a contact to repair the exterior facade of a water plant at the Aug. 25 village board meeting.
The work will include tuckpointing, wall repairs, wall demolition, concrete block replacement, brick replacement and caulking. The village contracted Structural Technologies of Bloomingdale to assess the scope of the project and oversee the bid process.
Homewood public works put the project out to bid in July and nine bids were received on Aug. 12. Berglund Construction, out of Chicago, won the contract with a bid of $95,000.
A lower bid from Korellis Roofing was withdrawn after, according to village documents, the business was called by Homewood officials who found the firm’s original bid was inaccurate.
In other business, the board approved four reappointments. Jim Wright will continue to serve on the Appearance Commission for another three-year term. Thomas Hamilton, Troy O’Quin and Nancy Spaniak were reappointed to the Community Relations Commission through August 2023 for three-year terms.
The village government personnel manual updates were also approved.
