Homewood trustees to consider agreement to receive CARES act funds

The only action item on the Homewood Board of Trustee agenda Tuesday is a resolution authorizing the village to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with Cook County to receive federal funds intended to help offset costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Homewood is eligible for up to nearly $437,000 in reimbursements. The money would come from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, a $2 trillion aid package passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump in March.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. via video conference. The public can monitor the meeting by calling (312) 626-6799. The meeting ID is 961 6038 1330. The password is 292 310.

Comments on agenda items or other matters related to village business can be made by sending email to [email protected] or by placing written comments in the drop box at 2020 Chestnut Road. Comments received by 4 p.m. on Tuesday will be read into the record of the meeting.
