The Community Board is hosting its 16th annual Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Balagio Ristorante, 17501 Dixie Highway in Homewood.
The Cancer Support Center Community Board is hosting its 16th annual Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Balagio Ristorante, 17501 Dixie Highway in Homewood.
Organizers are looking for 80 to 100 card players to support the event. As in years past, the final table winners will receive more than $5,000 in cash and prizes.
This event has helped the community board raise more than $600,000 that directly supports the much-needed programs and services the Cancer Support Center provides at its Homewood location at 2010 Elm Road, and its Mokena location.
Registrations are being accepted at online at classy.org. The cost is $175 for players and $50 for spectators. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with play to begin at 5:30 p.m. In addition to the tournament, participants can bid on silent auction items, purchase Super Bowl squares and win raffle prizes throughout the evening.
