Christopher Young, 52, of the 2900 block of Bob O’ Link Road was taken into custody Monday by Homewood police.
The charges stem from an incident in December 2013 in which a 6-year-old child was found in Flossmoor, according to police. The child reported she had been taken from her home on Hood Avenue in Homewood. The child was taken to an area hospital for examination.
In June 2014, Illinois State Police informed Homewood police that DNA evidence was recovered from the child. During the investigation, police obtained DNA that matched the sample found on the child.
On Wednesday, a bond hearing was held at the Cook County Sixth Municipal District Courthouse in Markham. Young’s bond was set at $200,000.
The Homewood Police Department is directing all inquiries about the case to the Assistant States Attorney’s Office at the Markham Courthouse.
