Severe weather affects village services Wednesday in Homewood, Flossmoor

Municipal offices in Flossmoor will be closed by severe weather Wednesday, while a reduced staff will be on duty at Homewood village facilities. Other local services will also be affected by the brutal cold. 

 

Municipal offices in Flossmoor will be closed by severe weather Wednesday, while a reduced staff will be on duty at Homewood village facilities. Other local services will also be affected by the brutal cold. 
 
Due to the extreme temperatures, all Homewood village facilities will operate with reduced staff from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30. There will be no changes or disruptions to emergency services such as police, fire and public works that are provided to the public.
 
Anyone needed needing medical attention in the village should dial 911 for assistance. All other non-emergency inquiries can be addressed by calling the Homewood Police Department at 708-206-3420.
 
Homewood village facilities will resume regular operations on Thursday, Jan. 31.
 
Flossmoor Village Hall and Department of Public Works will be closed Wednesday. Daily commuter parking passes can still be purchased at the police department during this closure. Village Hall and Public Works will reopen at 10 a.m. on Thursday. 
 
Police and fire emergency crews and on-call public works services will still be available to those in need. In the case of an emergency, residents should call 911. Persons needing non-emergency assistance can call Flossmoor police at 708-957-4500, option 2.
 
The Flossmoor Public Library will be closed on Wednesday. It will remain closed until noon on Thursday, Jan. 31. Please note that any checked out items with due dates from Jan. 28 to Jan. 31 will be adjusted to Feb. 1.
Homewood Disposal and Skyline Disposal will be closed on Wednesday. Trash pick-up will resume on Thursday with a one-day delay.
